WHO Collaborating Centre for Research, Training and Treatment in Epilepsy

In 2004 SEIN became a WHO Collaborating Centre for Research, Training and Treatment in Epilepsy and was re-designated in 2008.

mhGAP Programme

Two years ago the WHO launched the mental health Gap Action Programme (mhGAP) for low- and middle-income countries, with the objective  of scaling up care for mental, neurological (including epilepsy) and substance use disorders.

An important strategy of the mhGAP is to establish productive partnerships, to reinforce commitments with existing partners and to attract and energise new partners. As part of this strategy, the mhGAP Forum was established.

The mhGAP Forum acts as an informal group for collaboration and coordinated action. Participants include: member states of WHO, UN agencies, research institutes, universities, multilateral agencies, foundations, WHO Collaborating Centres and Non Governmental Organisations (NGO's).
